Abmessungen H: 254 mm Material Polyethylenterephthalat (PET)

Springer US Chromatographic Methods
Anbieter: Link.springer.com Preis: 53,49 €Classification of chromatographic methods Chromatography is the name given to a particular family of separation techniques of great effectiveness. The original method was described in 1903 by Tswett, who used it for the separation of coloured substances, and the name chromatog raphy stems from this. However, the limitation to coloured compounds never really obtained, and most chromatographic separations are nowadays performed on mixtures of colourless substances, including gases. Like fractional distillation, chromatography relies on the relative movement of two phases, but in chromatography one is fixed and is known as the stationary phase; the other is known as the mobile phase. Chromatographic methods may be classified first according to the nature of the mobile phase and, second, according to the nature of the stationary phase. The mobile phase may be a liquid or a gas, and the stationary phase may be a solid or a liquid. There are thus four main sub-divisions of the chromatographic process, as set out in Table 1.1. The system is called adsorption chromatography if the stationary phase is a solid, and partition chromatography if it is a liquid.

Springer US Ion Chromatography
Anbieter: Link.springer.com Preis: 160,49 €Bewitched is an odd word with which to begin a chemical textbook. Yet that is a fair description of how I reacted on first leaming of ion exchange and imagining what might be done with it. That initial fascination has not left me these many years later, and it has provided much ofthe motivation for writing this book. The perceived need for a text on the fundamentals of ion chromatography provided the rest. Many readers will have a general idea of what ion chromatography is and what it does. Briefly, for those who do not, it is an umbrella term for a variety of chromatographie methods for the rapid and sensitive analysis of mixtures of ionic species. It has become highly developed in the last decade, and while it is now routinely used for the determination of organic as weH as inorganic ions, its initial impact was greatest in the area of inorganic analysis. In the past the determination of inorganic ions, particularly anions, meant laborious, time-con suming, and often not very sensitive "wet chemieal" methods. In the last ten years that has changed radically as ion chromatography has supplanted these older methods.

Springer US Gas Phase Chromatography
Anbieter: Link.springer.com Preis: 53,49 €THE remarkable capabilities of capillary gas partition chromatography (or, in short, capillary chromatography) are beyond all doubt. In spite of this, difficulties are continually arising in the experimental realization of this interesting development of gas chromatography, and this hinders the rapid acceptance of these methods. For this reason, in the present work I have dealt with experimental and practical problems rather than with theoretical aspects, hoping that this may serve to remove many of the problems con cerned. The present publication is based on experimental work carried out in productive collaboration with my teachers and colleagues, to whom I owe a great deal. I should like to thank the following for their valuable assistance and stimulating suggestions: Professor E. Cremer, Dr. H. Kienitz and his colleagues, Professor A. I. M. Keulemans, Dr. I. Halasz, and in particular Mr. D. H. Desty and Dr. R. P. W. Scott. I should also like to thank the management of the Badische Anilin- und Sodafabrik AG, Ludwigshafen, for their generous support and for per mission to publish this book. The outstanding co-operation of the Verlag Bibliographisches Institut, Mannheim, was for me a particular pleasure.

Springer US Gas Phase Chromatography
Anbieter: Link.springer.com Preis: 53,49 €THE present volume, which is the first of a three-volume work on gas phase chromatography, deals with the problems of gas chromatography in packed columns. Gas chromatography, like any other analytical method, is mainly a matter of practical skill, and therefore emphasis has been given to the apparatus at the expense of a more detailed presentation of the theory. The aim of this book is to make lecturers and students, chemists, works engineers and laboratory workers familiar with this highly effective branch of analytical physical chemistry. I hope too that the experienced worker may find references which will be of value to him in his work and which will spare him part of the now almost impossible task of keeping up to date with the literature. The nomenclature used here is the result of a number of discussions with Professor E. Cremer and Dr. E. Bayer, and I should like to take this opportunity of expressing my grateful thanks to them. The present book is based partly on my book Gas Chromatography which appeared at the end of 1959. Numerous discussions with Professor E. Leibnitz and his colleagues H. P. Angele, M. Hofmann, H. Holzhauser, M. Kuhl and H. G. Struppe and the experimental work carried out with them have all influenced this revision. I should also like to thank Dr. H. Kienitz and his colleagues Dr. K. Dorfner, Dr. H. D. Ermshaus and Dr. H. Runge for valuable suggestions.

Humana Press Protein Chromatography
Anbieter: Link.springer.com Preis: 160,49 €A prerequisite for elucidating the structure and function of any protein is the prior purification of that protein. This necessity has led to the development of many purification schemes and chromatographic methods for the isolation of native proteins from complex sources. In Protein Chromatography: Methods and Protocols, leading researchers present clear protocol-style chapters that are suitable for newcomers and experts alike. The book opens with vital topics in protein biochemistry, addressing such areas as protein stability and storage, avoiding proteolysis during chromatography, protein quantitation methods including immuno-qPCR, and the contrasting challenges that microfluidics and scale-up production pose to the investigator, and then it segues into key methods involving the generation and purification of recombinant proteins through recombinant antibody production and the tagging of proteins, amongst other means, as well as many variations on classic techniques such as ion-exchange and immunoaffinity chromatography. Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology™ series format, protocols chapters include introductions to their respective subjects, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls. Authoritative and up-to-date, Protein Chromatography: Methods and Protocols will greatly aid scientists in establishing these essential techniques in their own laboratories and furthering our understanding of the many imperative functions of proteins.
