Im ersten Teil soll der Film zunächst eingeordnet werden und das Handlungsgerüst aufgezeigt werden. Darauf folgt die Analyse des Films, wobei die visuelle und auditive Ebene getrennt voneinander betrachtet werden sollen. Der Film kommt ganz ohne Worte aus und erzählt die Geschichte durch Animation und Zeichentricktechniken verbindende Bilder, begleitet von einer das Geschehen kommentierenden und unterstützenden Musik. Die Korrelation von bewegten Bildern und Musik hat die Möglichkeit beim Rezipienten verschiedenste Wirkungen auszulösen. Durch das Ausbleiben der Sprache im Kurzfilm wird Musik zum Element der inhaltlichen Gestaltung. So kann die Bildebene durch Musik gefühlsmäßig bereichert werden, z.B. zur Untermalung der Stimmung oder zur Verdopplung von Bewegungen. Hierfür sollen die filmischen Gestaltungsmittel und deren Effekte auf die Narration untersucht werden. Im Gegensatz zum Film zeichnetet sich die Erzählstruktur im Bilderbuch durch den wechselseitigen Dialog zwischen den beiden Zeichensystemen Text und Bild aus. Daran knüpft die Analyse der Bild-Text-Interdependenzen im Bilderbuch an. In der Schlussbetrachtung sollen die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse dann zusammengefasst werden.
