Chateau Alexandre Bordeaux Rouge è un 100% Merlot da viti impiantate circa 25 anni fa a un’altitudine di 100 metri sul livello del mare, in una posizione che domina la valle della Garonna. Le piante crescono su terreni composti da uno strato di ghiaia superficiale adagiato sopra uno strato di argilla e calcare, con un’ottima esposizione a sud e sud-est che consente una maturazione ottimale dei grappoli. Una volta raccolte, le uve vengono trasferite in cantina per la classica vinificazione in rosso con fermentazione alcolica in serbatoi di acciaio inox a contatto con le bucce. Segue l’invecchiamento di alcuni mesi in botti di rovere francese prima del definitivo imbottigliamento. Il Bordeaux Chateau Alexandre Rouge è di colore rosso rubino scuro dai riflessi tendenti al violaceo. Al naso si percepiscono piacevoli e nitidi aromi fruttati di frutti rossi e neri, come la mora, la ciliegia e il mirtillo, affiancati da una fine nota minerale. In bocca risulta molto denso e di buon corpo, non privo però di freschezza e armonia, con un tannino presente ma per nulla rigido ad accompagnare il finale fruttato e pulito. Il consiglio è di abbinare questo Bordeaux Rouge a formaggi di lunga stagionatura oppure a pietanze a base di carni varie, bianche o rosse, quali arrosti, stracotti e carni grigliate.
