Caldaro Classico Superiore 'Puntay' Erste+Neue 2025

The Caldaro Classico Superiore "Puntay" by Erste+Neue establishes an immediate connection with the nose, presenting a distinctly fruity profile. From this "incipit", it is clear how the varietal is treated with great respect by the winery, careful to enhance its primary aspects and skilled in not distorting them despite the fact that, both in vinification and in aging, a processing in wood of different sizes is planned. The fresh and dry taste makes the "Puntay" versatile in the kitchen, to be served even cooler to favor pairing with fish-based recipes. The "Puntay" Caldaro Classico Superiore Erste+Neue comes from various Schiava vineyards included within the Alto Adige denomination. The terroir of the different parcels is characterized by a subsoil mainly composed of limestone and gravel. The grapes, carefully harvested during the harvest phase, are immediately transported to the winery to be destemmed. The carefully selected berries are pressed and the must ferments in stainless steel containers,made of stainless steel, then undergoing malolactic fermentation in tonneau. The aging consists of a brief passage between barrique and tonneau and the wine is finally ready to be bottled. The “Puntay” Erste+Neue presents itself with a concentrated ruby red color, crossed by some more lively garnet reflections. On the nose, it immediately welcomes you with a clear hint of cherry, enriched by other fruity nuances that finish with a reference to almond. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, characterized by a winning sip thanks to a fresh imprint that contributes to lengthening the finish. A bottle that, over the past few years, has reached a constant quality level, recognized by important national sector guides.
